Learn how we're helping children and others vulnerable to and affected by COVID-19
OUR CAMPAIGN AGAINST COVID-19 IS ONGOING. DONATE NOW.
Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and the enhanced community quarantine, Save the Children remains committed to respond to the needs of vulnerable children and their families.
We make sure that children not only receive essential items, but also that their voices are heard and their views considered in these tough times.
Summary of activities to date, since March 2020:
10,851 kits with hygiene essentials distributed to people in Metro Manila, Cavite, Lanao del Sur, and Rizal--covering more than 50,000 individuals
61 portable and child-friendly handwashing facilities installed in strategic points in Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, and Misamis Oriental--benefitting more than 180,000 people

1,128 households in Metro Manila, Cavite, and Rizal given nutritious food baskets
8,728 individuals in Rizal, Sarangani, and North Cotabato given medical supplies, personal protective equipment, and logistical and technical support
PhP 210,000 worth of thermal scanners, face masks, and ethyl alcohol distributed to partners and local community centers supporting people living with HIV and AIDS
CHILDREN'S CONSULTATION--among those living in vulnerable areas in Pasay City and Cavite, so they can voice out their concerns and feelings about the situation, and provide suggestions on how to address issues brought about by the quarantine.
ONLINE SURVEY--to look at child protection issues, the availability and accessibility of child protection services, and the functionality of reporting mechanisms. Workers from local government units and non-government organizations across the country took part in the survey.
Over 16 million reached through our communications efforts in traditional and social media, and through printed materials distributed together with essential items. Topics covered include handwashing and hygiene etiquette, health and nutrition, education, child protection, parenting tips, and activities that can be done at home.
We also started an online group--currently with more than 200 members--for children where they can share and receive child-friendly information on COVID-19, and how they can participate in preventing the spread of the disease.
