Save the Children Philippines, in collaboration with Sining Salaysay, proudly announces the launch of “Munting Mundo ni Nene”, an immersive public art exhibit that will travel to key locations nationwide. This unique installation coincides with the celebration of International Day of the Girl and National Children’s Month, reflecting a shared commitment to empowering young girls.
“Munting Mundo ni Nene” shines a spotlight on the pressing challenges faced by young girls in the Philippines, focusing on issues such as adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (ASRHR), gender-based violence (GBV), and the complex gender dynamics that shape their futures.
Through an engaging, interactive experience blending art with data-driven storytelling, visitors will explore the lived realities of young girls and adolescent mothers. Multimedia displays offer a glimpse into the emotional and physical burdens these girls bear, aiming to foster understanding and empathy.
The exhibit seeks to ignite dialogue on the health, safety, and rights of young girls by integrating factual data with thought-provoking artworks and interactive components. Ultimately, it aspires to inspire action, encouraging communities to support policies and programs that safeguard and empower girls, ensuring their well-being and future potential.
The official launch on November 5 will feature powerful messages from adolescent girls addressing pivotal issues such as climate change, ASRHR, and GBV. Key partners, including the Commission on Population and Development, Council for the Welfare of Children, Department of Education and Department of Social Welfare and Development, will also lend their voices in support of the cause.
